Aur Computer Service, a computer repair company in the Milwaukee area, recently donated three refurbished computers and three service calls to Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful (KGMB). The donations were then used by KGMB for their fundraising event on Saturday, November 10th to benefit continued environmental educational programs for kids.

aur Computer Service and Wauwatosa West High School collects over 600 pairs of jeans

During the month of October, the Key Club of Wauwatosa West High School teamed up with aur Computer Service to collect jeans donated to the St. Vincent de Paul Society on behalf of the Sojourner Truth House. Together they collected over 600 pairs of jeans in an effort to raise awareness during national domestic violence awareness month.
As a result of their efforts the Key Club was awarded a refurbished computer from aur Computer Service.The Key Club is a group of students that volunteers their time to better their community. Barb Lauenstein, advisor of the Wauwatosa West Key Club stated “the computer was just a bonus. At first we were going to use the computer for our new technology lab. Then we decided that we have a number of students who do not have a home computer, so it was obvious to the Key Club that giving the computer to a family was a much better choice. The hard part was deciding on which family to give it to.”
aur Computer Service chose to donate the jeans they collected to the Sojourner Truth House (www.sojournertruthhouse.org), because of their mission to fight domestic violence. The Sojourner Truth House’s mission is to provide shelter, safety, support, education and advocacy to break the cycle of violence because domestic respect is the right of every woman, man and child.

aur Computer Service teams up with Midwest Computer Recycles to offer free computer recycling. Instead of throwing your computer in a local landfill, help save mother earth. It is very simple, all you have to do is bring your computer or computer parts and accessories to one of our drop-off locations and the Midwest Computer Recyclers will pick up what we collect. The computer recycling is free for individuals with personal computers, but businesses with large recycling donations may be subject to a fee.

aur Computer Service along with Wauwatosa West High School and the Greater Holy Temple Christian Academy are collecting jeans throughout the entire month of October for women and children in an effort to raise awareness and promote domestic respect.
The schools are working toward earning a refurbished computer donated by aur Computer Service. Together the schools need to collect over 400 pairs of jeans. All jeans that are collected will go the St. Vincent de Paul on behalf of the Sojourner Truth House. aur Computer Service is also collecting jeans at all of their locations, located at 5401 North 76th Street #205, 5911 West Vliet Street, and 6922 West Good Hope.
Anyone who donates 5 pairs of jeans will receive a $25 gift certificate to aur Computer Service. aur Computer Service chose to donate the jeans to the Sojourner Truth House, because of their mission to fight domestic violence. aur Computer Service has expanded by adding a new computer technician to their staff. Deleono Johnson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was hired in June as aur Computer Service’s newest computer technician. Johnson was an employee of a local competitor for 7 years and now joins aur Computer Service with over 9 years of personal and professional experience. Johnson takes pleasure in working with computers and says that “it is great to have a hobby turn into a career.”
